these are actualyl from before i left for Vienna and London

jorge and i toured ryan mcginness at charles bank
great show!

this was the best piece in the show by far
i think ryan really hit on something with this one

i dont get to see like ONE FLOWER so walking along a canal and seeing this shit everywhere is just as cherishedly novel

we toured this super old bookstore and the guy said the most valuable thing in there was this sewer plate. the first one made by mr Crapper. the inventor of the toilet

did you know she went to therapy for 3-4 days a week for almost 50 years?

i liked learning about “the wolf man” who painted paintings of white wolves sittting in a tree staring at him

it was a bit racy!
she talked about Lucien Freud quite a lot as well, didnt realize so many of his disturbing nudes were of his semi-estranged/neglected daughters

so the life ball is the world’s biggest event for AIDS charity

it was kinda like circque du soleil meets mermaid parade meets a fundraiser

it was very effective

if youve ever been to a fancy dress party where everyone was dressed amazingly there is that element

there were a million rooms in city hall and each was a unique party with different music and different drink and different freaks

i will admit that i did not make it until 5am
i just wanted to take things and dance but i cant take things alone or i freak out
i can walk home alone though i am ok with that

we got to have a little Franz West sesh

he is like one of the most famous living artists
kembra thought he was super handsome
he said some very interesting things that i wish i had exactly write for quoting

then we went to his friend Kembra’s friend Hans something’s house

his studio and house was amazing

he made this great movie that had Kembra and Colin de Land and Raymond Pettibon and Lizzi Bougatsos in it and all these artists like this bad crime story, i loved it

needless to say i was super impressed and even more so by the fact that Dustin wants to turn this big beautiful building into a Kunsthalle Red Hook

there is nothing i am drown to more than bounding ambition that goes for it and makes sure things work out at the last second to the benefit of the community
he and i signed our leases almost the same time, 11 months ago, or rather he BOUGHT the place when i signed my rent thingie, and it was a huge gamble for him and now its working out

that makes me happy
i talked about all the artists that have screwed me over in different ways over burgers and the different ways that i forgive them
and their vaulting ambitions…

ugh red hook might be too cute already

i’ll never get a satisfying picture of my favourite view of NYC, on the BQE just south of the brooklyn bridge when downtown looks like the Death Star
i bet Dustin could make a compelling inter-paned rendering…
