Kehinde looking up at your nether regions while you are enjoying a pic-a-nick basket full of goodies is classic. Chicken that looks like sausage versus sausage that looks like chicken! Greatness.

  • jchron

    great post/art!

  • Inquisitaur

coudln’t one compare a barry mcgee pattern painting to a thick layersome realist oil painting, equal in size, and regard b.g. as a slacker minimalist? food

    For

    Thought? <3 this blog,

    Inquisitaur

  • tskross

@inquisitaur there isn’t anything slacker about mcgee’s work, whether you like or not…

Keep it up admin, even if I don’t absolutely love everything you do at the Hole some of us really appreciate what you are doing there. Looking forward to whatever you have planned for the future

“Graffiti was born in New York; this exhibition could help paint this exhilarating chapter in the city’s history.” – You are so so wrong here ms. grayson. Graffiti has been around since at least the Roman Empire you need to get off your high horse and check your facts. Just since it took you moving to NY and dating writers to figure it out doesn’t mean it was born here stop fanning out. Check your facts you just make yourself look lame. You care so much about the damn exhibit run it in the Hole. Fill the gap enough claptrap.

  • derp

“contemporary graffiti”, “graffiti as we know it” comes from NYC wildstyle DERP

  • Jellybean Weirdo

love the angry texting lady who looks like Mick Jagger, and the senility power daleks!

  • the truth

    i LOVE art.

    i LOVE art shows.

JUST KEEP graffiti OUT of shows and museums.

  • johnGEEEEEE

i cant wait to put my dick in the hole.

yes graffiti belongs in the streets..once it hits the gallery it loses that OH SHIT HE REALLY DID THAT? appeal

  • Want Want

and another thing, your boy kenny didn’t do the black-light room. i think deep down, you must know that.

  • Space 27

Graffiti is the language of God !!

  • tskimberly

I think writers should use “contemporary” infront of graffiti when written, and mcgee yea his works great, but, systematic and dimensional, I think when a painter sets out on conveying a three dimensional image that serves to realism and its geniune school, she or he is regarded as a non slacker minimalist, where as graf stars kind of well, need we say more? Cmon stop the cheerleading and play some ball for the art history preservation team guys n gals! Celebrate toil, don’t celebrate spoil

  • tskimberly

Graf is very well, warholian, and I think its important to free yourselves from that mental slaverly, basquiats work also, great story, compelling and romantic, but the work, well, its , good to everyone ,else

The moca exhibit looked like a graf convention , so maybe that question of graf in museums is valid…..who’s to say, oyea the ppl are!cool posts <33
